Applications
Glass adds both style and functionality to your home. The Saveheat range offers almost limitless combinations of product features to meet your exact needs.
Where you intend to use the glass in your home will of course determine the combination of product features that you choose. To help you consider your options, we have put together some suggested glass combinations for different areas of your home.
Don't overlook the experience and knowledge of your local Saveheat approved glazing company. Discuss your project direct with your nearest stockist (find them on our stockists page). They will provide you with invaluable advice relating to the best Saveheat product for your project.
DOORS
Security, in our opinion, is likely to be the key driver when considering the glass for all external doors.
Front doors
Our recommended product combination would be:
Energy efficient glass to ensure you don't let heat escape during the colder months. Add our laminated security glass to keep any unwanted visitors out!
French doors
Safety, security and the cleaning of large areas of glass would be the determining factors when selecting the best glass. Begin with our energy efficient glazing system. Add the self-cleaning option to minimise the time spent cleaning large areas of external glass. Finally, we would recommend our laminated security glass, manufactured to the most appropriate thickness for your size and scale of your French doors.
Internal doors
Saveheat's fire safety glass would be a good starting point when considering internal doors. Dependent upon the location within your home, you may choose to enhance the glass with a photochromatic laminate (which turns opaque when, for example, a light is switched on in the room).
WINDOWS
For all windows, we would recommend you install our premium energy-efficient glazing system which combines solar control and energy retention features.
This lets you make the most of the heat offered by the sun AND prevents heat loss from your home. Request argon gas in the cavity between the glass (it is six times heavier than normal air) and it will further support your efforts to prevent heat loss from your home.
Sun Rooms & Conservatories
Ensure that you get the best from these areas of your home. We would recommend our premium energy-efficient glazing system (combining solar control and energy retention features) complete with argon gas in the cavity. To this, we would add the self-cleaning option to reduce the amount of time you need to spend on keeping the external glass in tip top condition.
For ultimate glamour and style, consider having a photochromatic laminate added to your system (the glass will turn opaque when a light is switched on in your conservatory). You may also consider adding integral blinds to give you a degree of privacy.
